About The Project
SAFEPAWS (Secure Automated Feeding & Enhanced Pet Accessibility Wellness System) is aimed to adress the following problem: Other cats or other animals can eat the pet food in the bowl meant for your animal which limits cat's food availability, creates inadequate nutrition for the cat, and can often lead to bugs contaminating the food, endagering the cat's health and creating pests which are a hazard to the home. Mission statement: We want to ensure adequate nutrition and security of a pet’s health to empower both pets and owners. Sawyer was the head of design, coordinating CAD models, assembling structures, laser-cutting and 3D printing, as well as code and mechanic set ups. She also assisted with programming int Python for the OpenCV AI detection on the RaspberryPi.
